Its designl addresses contact stress relief and thermal expansion compensation, while wave-shaped foils dampen shaft vibration. When installed, the tigid innerl ring tightly fits the cam of a harmonic reducet, acting as an elliptical ring. The elastic thin-walled outer ring, originally circular, deforms into an ellipse tol match the flexspline. Rolling elements can be modeled as lumped masses connected to the rings by equivalent springs.
