Once dimensions, tolerances, and load ratings were standardized across industries, buyers could select bearings more easily and manufacturers could scale production. Seals and shields later expanded use cases by improving contamination resistance and reducing maintenance.

 

Today, deep groove ball bearings are seen as a "simple" product, but their widespread success comes from an engineering balance: good load capability, smooth running, manufacturability, and reliability.
